A big beach between dunes and pines

Pen Bron is the naturist landmark of the La Turballe coast. With its 900 to 1000 meters of fine white sand, it's the largest naturist beach in Loire-Atlantique, and you can feel it as soon as you lay your towel down: space, more space, and a setting of natural dunes lined with a pine forest that cuts the wind nicely.

It stretches between the municipal campsite of La Turballe and the Pen Bron marine center, a stone's throw from the Brière salt marsh nature reserve. The only visual landmark on site is a pyramid perched on the dune, which more or less marks the heart of the naturist area.

Textile and naturist, each to their own zone

In summer, signs clearly mark out the area reserved for naturists, naturally separated from the textile zone. This clean separation is exactly what comes up often in visitor feedback: everyone stays in their own corner without creating tension, and mutual respect between the two crowds is rated pretty highly.

The beach has been tolerated by the La Turballe town hall for a long time, which explains this settled, almost habitual atmosphere among locals. It draws a varied crowd, regular naturist couples, families, and passing visitors who come to try it out for the day.

Access and facilities

Access is via a fairly wide car park located at each end of the beach, which avoids the parking hassle at the height of the season. Toilets are available on site, and the whole thing remains free, with no entry or parking fees.

The beach is accessible all year round, but it's during the season that the naturist zone is officially marked out. The rest of the time, use is still possible but less clearly framed.
