A wild beach

La Luzéronde is that big fine sand beach in L'Épine, backed by tall dunes and the forest of the same name. The setting has kept a raw edge, far from the groomed beaches on the rest of the island. The naturist zone sits on the southern part, past the blockhouses that mark the boundary with the textile sector.

This stretch of sand is actually the only zone where naturism is tolerated across the whole island of Noirmoutier. Nothing official about it: no one hands out any authorization, nudity happens there by custom, discreetly, on this particular stretch.

Access and location

You can get there from l'Herbaudière or from the Pointe du Devin, by bike, following the trails that wind through the dunes. A coastal path also lets you reach the site on foot. The salt marshes aren't far, for anyone who wants to stretch the walk after the swim.

Atmosphere on site

Regulars describe a place that's stayed wild, valued precisely for that: dunes, forest, few people depending on the day. Naturist attendance stays modest and mostly male, mainly men in their fifties, with women rarer in this area.

Easy access works in its favor, but the site's unofficial nature calls for a bit of restraint: no sign, no strict boundary, just a tacit understanding between those who come for it. A simple date with the ocean, for anyone looking for naturism without infrastructure or frills.
