A large estate between nature and river
La Clapère spreads over 50 hectares, at 150 metres altitude, in the town of Maureillas-las-Illas, in the Pyrénées-Orientales. The Maureillas river runs through the property for two kilometres, which means you can swim right in nature, on top of the campsite's own pool.
Only 9 of the 50 hectares are taken up by pitches, the rest of the land stays wild. That choice is what gives the place its calm feel, far from the packed-in camping vibe you find elsewhere.
Pitches and mobile homes
The campsite has 200 pitches spread across its 9 developed hectares, plus 10 mobile homes to rent for those who'd rather not pitch anything themselves. It's open from May 1st to September 30th, but the front desk only operates in high season, from June to August, between 9am and 6pm.
On arrival, a 20 euro deposit is required to get the badge that opens the access gate. Payment can be made in cash, by cheque or by card, with a minimum of 15 euros for card payments.
On-site services
The campsite offers a pool, a bar, a tapas restaurant and a ping-pong table for swim-free afternoons. Wifi is available but stays limited, which fits the unplugged spirit you often find in this kind of naturist campsite. The sanitary facilities are complete and well spread across the grounds.
