A great classic beach
Canet beach, in Canet-en-Roussillon, stretches over more than a kilometer of fine golden sand. The vibe is that of a typical Mediterranean beach, popular with families, surfers and holidaymakers out for some fresh air.
Naturism, unofficial
The town hasn't set aside a designated naturist area, which in theory makes naturism off limits across the whole municipal territory. In practice, a discreet naturist presence exists in an undesignated zone of the beach, without any official recognition.
What the guides say
Naturist guides rarely mention Canet as a reliable spot to strip off, pointing instead toward Torreilles nearby, where the setup is more established. At Canet, people mainly come for the sand and the space, not for a guaranteed naturist experience.
