A wild beach at the far end of the Somme bay
In Saint-Quentin-en-Tourmont, right at the northern tip of the Somme bay, stretches one of the most discreet beaches on the Picardy coast. The naturist zone starts north of the Pointe de Saint-Quentin and runs toward Quend for several kilometers of fine sand, framed by massive dunes.
We're far from the crowded beaches of summer. Here, it's the Domaine du Marquenterre, managed as part of the national nature reserve, that watches over this landscape, left almost untouched by urbanization.
Access: allow an hour on foot
Nothing about reaching this beach happens in a rush. You need to park near Chemin des Matelots or Rue des Écoles, where parking is free, then walk about 3.5 km, roughly an hour, along well kept forest paths that cross through the dunes.
That walk is almost part of the experience: it filters out casual visitors and guarantees a kind of isolation that few naturist beaches in France still offer. Access remains free, with no set hours and no ticket.
Atmosphere and attendance
Attendance stays very low, even at the height of the season. You'll mostly cross paths with couples, seasoned naturists and a few families willing to make the walk to earn some peace and quiet.
Regulars all point to the same thing: the calm here is total, almost disorienting at first. Few if any prying eyes, a serene atmosphere that suits beginners looking for a first taste of nudity without any pressure particularly well.

What naturists say about it
Online reviews praise above all the vastness of the landscape and the quality of the dunes, described by several visitors as dramatic and spectacular. That feeling of well being you get on site comes up again and again, carried by this mix of solitude and unspoiled nature.
The one downside noted depending on the season: the presence of marine plant debris can make the sand's cleanliness uneven, especially after big tides or storms. Nothing that really dents the place's reputation, but worth knowing before committing to an hour long walk to get there.
