Plage de l'Océan is one of the most unspoiled stretches in Anglet. You get there via a pedestrian footbridge that offers a panoramic view of the Basque coast right from the start, a genuine decompression chamber before you've even laid down your towel. The sand runs alongside the lush greenery of the Chiberta golf course, giving the whole area a wild feel that's fairly rare on this busy stretch of coast.

The beach holds Blue Flag status and is supervised in July and August from 10:30am to 7pm. Outside that window, nobody's watching over swimmers, worth keeping in mind if you're visiting off season.

Naturism, between tolerance and discretion

Officially, swimming or sunbathing nude isn't allowed here. In practice, it's tolerated on the stretch running alongside the golf course, toward the dunes, a bit off the main flow of swimmers and surfers. Naturists find discreet spots there, with no facilities or dedicated signage: it's a tolerated use rather than an organized setup.

This area draws a mixed crowd, regulars of naturism, families enjoying the calm, and board sports enthusiasts who share the spot without any particular friction.
