A river beach straddling two towns
The naturist beach of Sandillon stretches along the Loire levee, between Meung-sur-Loire and Mareau-aux-Prés, straddling the towns of Sandillon and Saint-Denis-en-Val. You get there via a country lane, with a small parking area nearby.
The site is what you'd call a natural zone through and through: sand and pebbles along the river, no particular facilities on site. It's this bare simplicity that gives the place its charm for regulars.
Tolerated practice, not official
Nudity is tolerated there rather than governed by any official status. Local naturists visit regularly, but turnout varies a lot depending on the season and the weather, as is often the case on riverside beaches.
Access remains discreet, with no particular signage. Entry is free and open to all, which fits the spirit of the place: a corner of nature on the banks of the Loire, with no infrastructure, to be taken as it is.
