La Grande Cosse

A long stretch of naturist sand

La Grande Cosse stretches for about 4 kilometers between Saint-Pierre-sur-Mer and Les Cabanes de Fleury, in the Aude region. Naturism has been officially permitted here since a municipal decree signed in 1974, making it one of the historic naturist beaches on the Aude coastline.

The sand is fine, the space is wide open, and the landscape keeps a wild edge that's fairly rare on this coast. You'll find regular naturists, couples and families here, in an atmosphere that stays calm even at the height of the season.

Access and facilities

The beach can only be reached on foot, no road leads down to the sand. The nearest parking is at Les Cabanes de Fleury, about a kilometer's walk away.

There's no natural shade and no official facilities on site (no showers, no permanent first aid post). Maintenance is handled occasionally by a local naturist association, which explains the raw feel of the place: a few driftwood cabins dot the landscape, built up over time by the regulars.
