A story that goes back to 1965
Le Ran du Chabrier is one of the historic addresses of libertine naturism in France. Open since 1965 and still run by Alain Cogno, the estate has built a solid reputation with a loyal clientele that comes back season after season.
The grounds stretch through the Cèze valley, between the Cévennes and Provence, sheltered from the wind. A green setting that makes a change from crowded coastal campsites, and one that clearly counts for a lot in the regulars' attachment to the place.
Reserved and supervised access
You don't just show up here like at an ordinary campsite. Entry requires membership in the estate's association, 15 euros per person, valid for the whole season.
The place is reserved for adults, 18 and over, with a clearly libertine naturist atmosphere. Couples and women are welcomed with no particular conditions, but single men need to be sponsored by a couple already on site. A rule that shapes the whole atmosphere of the estate and reassures couples who come here.
Accommodation and services
The estate offers two options: mobile homes or classic camping pitches, for a total capacity of 200 people. Enough to welcome plenty of people without ever feeling overrun, the grounds staying human in scale.
On site, you'll find everything you need without having to leave: a restaurant, La Paillote, a snack bar, a mini-market and a bar. Handy for multi-day stays when you don't have a car on hand at all times.
Life on the estate
The calendar includes monthly meals and themed evenings for the libertine crowd, giving a stay some rhythm beyond just renting a pitch.
