A perched domain in the Haut Pays de Grasse

At 1000 meters above sea level, between the Verdon and the Côte d'Azur, Le Haut Chandelalar occupies a wooded domain of 80 hectares. The Boisgontier family has run this 4 star naturist campsite for several decades, far from busy roads and mass tourism.

The 67 pitches are spacious, shaded, arranged in terraces within the forest. There are also mobile homes and chalets fitted with a private spa for those who prefer all inclusive comfort.

Pool, restaurant and daily life

The heated pool with its paddling area is one of the highlights mentioned by visitors, even if parasols sometimes run short during busy hours. The campsite also offers a restaurant serving local specialties, a daily breakfast and an on site grocery shop.

On the leisure side, there is a multisports field, a ping pong table and a play area for children. Wifi is available, handy for staying reachable without leaving the calm of the domain.

A family friendly, peaceful atmosphere

Le Haut Chandelalar welcomes a clientele of couples and families, largely French speaking and Dutch, and rather mature. The atmosphere is described as peaceful, the opposite of the livelier naturist campsites.

This calm has its downside: few organized activities, a bar with limited hours (4pm to 5:30pm) and a restaurant not always convenient to reach in the evening for a couple's dinner. Cleaning of the sanitary facilities during peak hours also comes up in the reviews.

Rates and access

The campsite is open from May 1st to September 15th, with reception from 9am to 6pm in low season and extended hours (9am to 12pm, 2pm to 6pm) in July and August. Expect around 50 euros a day, a rate some visitors find high given what's on offer.

This price stays consistent with what the place provides: a large, well kept forested ground, generous pitches and a heated pool, rather than an entry level campsite. For a peaceful stay, far from the hustle, the address ticks the right boxes.
