A club with history since 2012
City Club has held its ground on rue d'Orbey in Colmar since 2012, making it a firmly established address on the Alsatian swingers' scene. The venue presents itself as a private space blending relaxation and encounters, far from the somewhat crude image the genre can conjure up.
People come here just as much for the naughty atmosphere as for a session in a well kept sauna or hammam.
Who comes, and when
The crowd is mixed: couples, women alone, men alone, everyone finds their place depending on the day. Wednesday changes the rules since the space becomes exclusively male, a format with its own regulars.
Access is reserved for adults aged 18 and over, no surprise for this type of venue.
Sauna, massages and lounges
On the facilities side, the club plays the wellness card just as much as the libertine one. Sauna, hammam, video lounges and an air conditioned bar to catch your breath between moments make up the basics.
There's also a genuine range of treatments: Californian massages, hot oil massages, aromatherapy massages, scrubs and clay wraps. Enough to turn an evening into something closer to a spa break than a nightclub, if that's what you're after.
An in house shop, the Espaceplaisirlove shop, lets you leave with what you need to keep the evening going at home.
Extended hours
City Club opens every day of the week, with evening hours running Tuesday to Saturday (2pm to 11pm), a Wednesday that starts as early as noon, and a slightly shorter Sunday (2pm to 10pm). Monday stays atypical with a 12pm to 8pm slot, rather quiet according to regulars.
Themed evenings also punctuate the calendar, with entertainment and sometimes food depending on the current programme.
What the regulars say
Feedback is largely warm: people praise a relaxed atmosphere, clean and well kept facilities, and staff described as respectful and attentive. Discretion and the venue's security come up often in the comments.
The mix of body care and libertine fun seems to win over those looking for something more than a plain swingers' club.
