A tolerated beach at the foot of the cliffs
In Dieppe, the naturist zone lies in the extension of the regular beach, just past the textile section. It's known as the swimming pool beach, named after the building you pass on the way in. Pebbles and the cliffs of the Alabaster Coast frame the spot, with a view stretching all the way to the town centre.
This naturist practice isn't recent: it has been tolerated here for several decades, which explains the regular attendance despite how discreet the place is. Nothing official or marked out, but a well established habit that the regulars know well.
How to get there
You reach the beach from the Dieppe promenade, passing in front of the bar Le Bar O Mètre then heading down to the shore. From there, you need to walk about 500 metres over the pebbles, along the cliffs, to reach the section reserved for naturists.
The walk is done on foot, with no particular signage, and access stays open at any hour since there's no set schedule or entry ticket. The closeness to Dieppe's town centre clearly works in the spot's favour: no need for a car, the beach is easily reached on foot from town.
Atmosphere and crowd
Feedback describes a friendly atmosphere among naturists, with a crowd that's mostly male but also includes couples, women on their own and occasional bathers curious to give it a try. The place stays discreet, far from the crowds of the neighbouring textile beaches.
Activity picks up mainly in spring and summer, when conditions allow for it. Outside those periods, attendance drops noticeably, as on most naturist beaches along the Normandy coast.
Practical info
The ground is made of pebbles, so it's best to bring suitable shoes for the approach walk and a thick towel to settle in comfortably. No services are available directly on the naturist zone itself, but the Bar O Mètre, right on the way, lets you grab a drink before or after your swim.
