A resort town between two communes
Blériot-Plage sits between Sangatte and Calais, in the Pas-de-Calais. The beach itself has a fairly family-friendly profile, frequented by classic bathers who come to enjoy the sand and the fresh air.
The dunes, a nudity zone
It's a bit further on, in the dunes stretching toward Sangatte, that nudity is actually practiced. These dunes have long been spotted by local nudists, and the local press has mentioned on several occasions their use by nudists and exhibitionists.
The crevasses carved into the terrain form natural shelters where you can undress away from prying eyes, with no facilities or particular arrangements.
The setting
On a clear day, the view stretches all the way to the English coast, giving the spot a rather unusual horizon for a beach in the north of France. It isn't an official naturist beach, but rather a long standing, unspoken use of the surrounding dunes.
