A wild setting
Gros Cap beach hides between Pointe du Morne Rouge and Gros Cap, south of Sainte-Rose, on the Basse-Terre coast. It stretches over about 250 meters, with ocre sand that sets it clearly apart from the neighboring beaches.
The place keeps a very wild character, far from the island's developed tourist sites.
Access and attendance
You get there on foot via a coastal path, with ropes at certain passages according to visitor feedback. This access, which requires a bit of effort, largely explains the low attendance at the site.
No facilities are present on site: no restrooms, no arranged shade, no supervision.
Atmosphere on site
The naturists and couples who make the trip mainly come looking for isolation and calm. The few available reviews describe a natural, preserved atmosphere, very different from Guadeloupe's more popular naturist beaches.
To plan before leaving: water, shade and good shoes for the path.
