A status apart
Anse Tarare isn't a naturist cove tolerated grudgingly, it's the only beach in Guadeloupe officially recognized by the French Naturism Federation. That changes everything: here, nudity isn't an exception or a risk, it's the normal setup of the beach. So people come here with no ulterior motive, a mix of naturists, couples and free diving enthusiasts.
The setting
We're about 5 kilometers from Saint-François, on the road leading to Pointe des Châteaux, one of the most photographed sites on the island. The beach itself plays the isolation card: fine sand, turquoise crystal clear water, an East-facing exposure that offers real privacy compared to the busier beaches in the area.
Access and atmosphere
Access is via the road toward Pointe des Châteaux, a route that naturally filters out casual passersby. The result: a well preserved beach, less crowded than the neighboring tourist spots, where swimming and snorkeling rank among the top activities thanks to the clarity of the water.
