A historic estate

La Taillade isn't a naturist campsite like the others: opened in 1983, it's the oldest one in Auvergne. It occupies an organic farming estate of 300 to 350 hectares, perched at 900 meters altitude in the mountains of Cantal, at the heart of the Gorges de la Truyère.

Naturism is allowed across the entire grounds, not just on the beach. This is a private estate, with family management known for its warm welcome.

The beach and the river

The developed beach on the banks of the Truyère gives direct access to the water, in a steep, wooded setting typical of the Cantal gorges. The surrounding grounds are shaded, which matters in summer when the sun beats down on the surrounding rocks.

The campsite is enclosed, a detail that reassures families looking for peace and quiet more than a festive atmosphere.

On site

The estate offers a restaurant, an activity room, a terrace and an archery area. Toilets are available on the grounds, as in any equipped campsite.

The 2 star rating sets the tone: simple comfort, no hotel level standing, but a natural setting that more than makes up for it. The lack of wifi, often mentioned by visitors, is actually seen as a real plus, perfect for unplugging.

Atmosphere and crowd

The crowd mixes regular naturists, families and couples. Reviews describe an authentic atmosphere, far from the more urban or festive naturist clubs.

The fact that the estate operates as organic farming gives the place a particular character: people come as much for the nature and the calm as for the naturism itself.
