A beach that doesn't cheat
Piémanson is first and foremost a matter of scale: over 25 kilometers of fine sand running along the Camargue, without a single building on the horizon. The naturist zone occupies the Eastern tip of this stretch, managed by the association Club Naturiste Camargue Soleil. Here, no cabins, no beach huts, just dunes planted with marram grass and, in the distance, the silhouette of the salt marshes and an industrial plant that gives the place an almost surreal look.
How to get there
Access is via a deserted road from Salin-de-Giraud, no public transport serves the area. So you have to come by car and park in a free sand lot, then walk about 600 meters to reach the naturist section. This isn't a beach you show up to in flip flops five minutes before a swim, but that's also what keeps it so peaceful.
Nothing but nature
No tourist infrastructure exists on site: no restaurant, no shop, not even a bit of natural shade beyond the dunes. Wild camping, long tolerated and even emblematic of the place, has been banned since 2016. What remains is a space where naturists and clothed people coexist by unspoken agreement, everyone finding their own patch of beach.
Who it's for
Attendance varies by area and season, peaking between June and September. You'll cross paths with regular naturists, couples, families used to minimalism and independent travelers looking for a wild beach far from organized seaside resorts. The local association also organizes events for the naturist community throughout the year.

Feedback praises the raw beauty of the site and that complete freedom missing from so many more developed beaches. The total absence of tourist facilities is exactly what draws those looking to do without them. On the other hand, several visitors note that this bareness can make the place uncomfortable for families used to finding shade, restrooms or a water point on site. At Piémanson, you come for the sand, the wind and the horizon, not for comfort.
