A historic club
La Serre de Portelas has been around since 1963. It's the Club du Soleil de Clermont-Ferrand that runs this member-based estate, perched at 800 meters of altitude right in the heart of the Auvergne Volcanoes region. We're far from the coastal naturist campsites here: the backdrop is mountains, puys and the forests surrounding them.
The grounds stretch over 15 hectares in Saint-Saturnin, in the Puy-de-Dôme. Plenty of room for everyone to find their own spot, even at the height of the season.
The setting and the pitches
175 pitches welcome tents, caravans and campervans. For those who'd rather not pitch anything themselves, ready-to-camp canvas tents for 4 people are available to rent, along with mobile homes.
Naturism is practiced across the entire estate. The vibe is family-friendly, far from the party atmosphere you sometimes find on the coast, and visitors who leave reviews mostly talk about a natural setting that's out of the ordinary.
On-site facilities
A heated outdoor pool with a children's pool is one of the highlights regularly mentioned. There's also a bar, activities organized throughout the season, free wifi, and sanitary facilities with showers.
Reviews describe a modest but well-kept setup. Nothing luxurious, but the essentials are there and they work.
Hiking and surroundings

The campsite is open to the public from May 29 to September 13. Outside that period, access is reserved for club members only. A free day visit is offered for the curious who want to see the estate before committing, and tours are organized on Wednesdays from 2pm to 5:30pm.
