A well-rooted association
Natanjou is the name of the naturist association of Anjou, settled for several decades now in Cornillé-les-Caves, just a stone's throw from Angers. Affiliated with the Fédération Française de Naturisme, it runs a 2 hectare plot where year-round members mix with passing summer visitors.
This is far from your classic commercial campsite: here, the community spirit takes over, with a real collective life that goes well beyond just staying in a tent.
The grounds and the pool
The site is made up of a grassy plot and a natural area, all wrapped in a tall hedge of greenery that completely blocks any outside view. The centerpiece remains the pool heated to 28 degrees, described by regulars as a true haven of peace. There is also an uncovered pool for the sunny days.
Access and membership
Access to Natanjou works on a membership basis: association members enjoy the place all year round, while tourists are welcomed during the summer season. Members can expect an annual fee, and since the rates offered to passing visitors aren't publicly listed, it's best to call ahead before planning your visit. On site, only cash payment is accepted, cards are not taken.
The grounds welcome tents and caravans, with an announced capacity of around thirty pitches. Dogs are accepted with no extra charge.
Community life and activities
Natanjou isn't limited to the Cornillé-les-Caves grounds: the association also organizes sessions at an urban pool in Angers, at la Roseraie, on Tuesday evenings outside of school holidays. Add to that annual hikes and various celebrations that punctuate the group's life throughout the year.
