A community-run campsite
Le Bois des Forges belongs to Club du Soleil de Touraine, an approved naturist association that runs the site itself. You can tell it's not just a plot you rent by the night: that community spirit shows in the atmosphere, which leans family-friendly and geared toward the collective.
The campsite spreads over 8 wooded hectares in Cléré-les-Pins, in Touraine, a stone's throw from the great châteaux of the Loire (Langeais, Azay-le-Rideau, Ussé, Chinon are all just a few kilometers away). Plenty of room to combine naked lounging with cultural visits during your stay.
Setting and facilities
The 2 star site has 300 pitches in total, 30 of which are reserved for passing holidaymakers (the rest are taken by year round members). You'll find tents, caravans and mobile home pitches, with electricity and water on site.
On the sanitary side, three full blocks are spread across the grounds, including one accessible to people with disabilities. Wifi is free, and a library plus a games room round out the offer for rainy days.
For leisure, the naturist pool and its paddling pool for kids are the gathering point. You can also play pétanque, volleyball, table tennis, or have a round of mini golf.
Rates and stay
The campsite is open every day from June 15 to September 1st. The base rate starts at 26 euros a night for two adults, a car and a tent or caravan.
For longer stays, a package gives a 100 euro discount from 40 days onward, which suits the regular crowd who come back every summer. Payment is by cash or card, and dogs are welcome.
Activities on site
In high season, the program is packed: naturism intro sessions for newcomers, pétanque and gold panning tournaments, communal meals and hikes in the area. Dance evenings set the rhythm for summer weekends.
What naturists think
Feedback praises a well kept site, a pleasant wooded setting and a friendly, rather family oriented atmosphere. The crowd, mostly French, is described as respectful of the naturist spirit, with no drift toward voyeurism. The regular seasonal activities are one of the points regulars often mention.
