Pisces in love

Pisces falls in love with an atmosphere. The way you laughed at the wrong moment, the song in the taxi, the fact that you looked exhausted and admitted it anyway. The practical facts (job, plans, whether you are actually available) arrive later, sometimes never.

As mutable water, Pisces takes the shape of whoever is in the room. That is the gift and the trap. By the third date this one knows your tells, your childhood bruise and what you need before you ask. Meanwhile you know almost nothing, because every question got answered with a story and you did not notice the deflection.

Pisces does not want to date. Pisces wants to merge. Neptune shows the idealised version of you first, and Pisces will love that version with real devotion for months. What makes Pisces flee: cross-examination, ultimatums, being told to stop being dramatic, a partner who keeps score out loud. The flaws are subtle. Pisces tells small lies to avoid conflict, keeps at least one ex on the emotional payroll, and can slide into martyrdom ("I gave everything") rather than state a need in a plain sentence.

Pisces rarely slams a door. Pisces fogs out. Slower replies, vaguer plans, then nothing. Ask directly, gently, and you usually get the truth on the first try.

Pisces in bed

With Pisces, sex begins long before anyone undresses. Context does most of the work: low light, a smell that means something, music that is not a playlist called Sexy Time. Fluorescent overhead lighting is close to a contraceptive here.

The rhythm is tidal rather than linear. Long approach, slow build, a plateau that lasts, then a sudden lurch into urgency. Efficient, goal-directed sex leaves this one strangely cold, even when everything technically worked.

Cancer offers what Pisces secretly wants: a home, a rhythm, someone who notices the mood before it is announced. Tender and very sticky, in the good sense, though the two of them together can sulk in parallel for days.

Taurus is the surprise best bet. Slow hands, long meals, an anchor that stops Pisces drifting. Taurus provides the floor, Pisces provides the dreaming. In bed, slow and imaginative in equal measure.

Capricorn works better than the textbooks suggest. Structure makes Pisces feel safe enough to open right up, and Capricorn quietly enjoys being adored.
